Settling for less is something I don’t like doing but therir are multiple situations where I have done so. For one when I work out at times I admit I will go hard for a certain amount of time, but also I will just go throught the motions and get done what I need to get done. Settling for less is something multiple people do. I have witnessed some do it myself. It’s something I really want to get rid of but sometime just need that person beside you to push you and motivate you and MAKE you do better than what you used too. Progressing in my college career I definately want to make myslef better as a person, student, and a athletes and settling for less wont do nothing but hold me back.
Shafer LOL
Shafer Cafeteria!!!! This place is so confusing to me. It can have me so excited and ready to come back and eat 30 more times. Or it can leave me upset and have me feeling like coming back is something I will never do. I don’t know why but shafer is something i can’t count on when I want a good meal. I can count on it if I want a good waffle lol. But I get tired of eating those after a while. But if I dont have any swipes to use on the special meals then I think I would really starve on this campus. Now dont get me wrong it’s a great place to eat but upsets your stomach AS SOON as you get back to your dorm. But I just can’t depend on the cafe but I know I will still go.
Cell Phones NOOO Computer PHONES
Dont know if you have a regular cell phone like myself, but this weekend I have seen one of the most unique phones. It was called a TILT not sure which company it was by nut it was nice. The screen was a touch one and the phone pushed up and you could tilt the screen. It did everything thats why I think It’s a computer phone rather than a cell phone. It took some of the clearest high def pics I’ve ever seen on a phone. One of my best friends is one of the biggest technology freaj I have ever seen. It has to have the latest everything no matter what it is. So yes he was the first person I ever seen with a phone like this one. But telling him that his phone is so nice is a mistake. All he going to say is “I know.” The phone is at least a $600 and is damn sure worth it. But me I’m going to stick to my phone which is a regular that does everything i need it too.
New York City
Last summer was my very first time traveling to the BIG APPLE. What an experience that was. Like I always mention Richmond, Viriginia is where I have been my whole life no vacations only traveled for basketball. New York was a place as soon as we entered the city I was amazed the building and the architecture is crazy. The buliding were so tall just like i seen them on HOME ALONE LOL. But seriously Times Square was bright and had to be one of the most unique places I’ve been too. I seen the MTV studios for TRL which had me amazed like it didn’t exist. The shoe stores were so big. The Foot Locker I went inside had to be one of the largest foot lockers in the United States. The streets were flooded with people and individuals snapping pics of whatever they felt was nice. Me and my sister were astonished like seriously. NYC was somewhere I really enjoyed and Im looking forward to going back with waaaayyy more spending money cause it’s a non stop shop when you go there.
Blood Diamonds!!
Blood Diamonds i have just learned about this upcoming year. I have seen the movie Blood Diamond which I must say is one hell of a movie. It brought to my attention what really goes on for these diamonds. If you haven’t seen this movie it is something that I highly reccomend to anyone who is a huge move watcher. This movie is so good and has a historic background that explains so much about what they call the Blood Diamonds. The one thing I must say that caught my attention the most is what they do to the little kids whom they kidnapp. In the movie they showed how kinds from ages it looked like 8-12 years old carrying AK-47 guns shooting and killing adults women and males because it’s what they are trained to do. The kids are like killing machines there is no stopping them and what they can do it’s amazing. So this movie once again is excellent and receives 5 stars from me. GREAT!!!
Allergies
Allergies, Allergies, Allergies, this allergies annoy me more that a lil brother who wont leave you alone. Growing I was the kind who scratched his eyes and sneezed so much until going outside was something my mom had to take away from me. I have had allergies since I can remember. Some nights is sooo hard for me to sleep becaus im sneezing, my throat starts itching and my eyes wont stop watering. Till this day I keep three or four tissues in my pockets. I sneeze sometimes up to seven times back to back. When it really bothers me I just lay on my bed and try to go to bed because if I dont it just keep on bothering me. I have taking so many types of medicine it’s crazy. They usually don’t help but for about 30 mins. So they are pointless to me. But I just have to live my life this way because I truly doubt if they go away. But I do have a doctor’s appoitnement coming up so wish me the best of luck that I can get a cure for these PLEASE!!!!
High School Days
I know im not the only one that must admit that they miss their high school days. Don’t get me wrong college life is much much better. But it’s just the things we used to do at school that makes me miss it so bad. I had a crew of about 10 guys that I used to hang with on a consistent bases. We did so much and had so much fun doing it. If it was cracking jokes on each other every breakfast and lunch or meeting in random gym classes talking trash about sports it was all fun. Friday night was also fun. Most of my cloeset friends were football player so I supported them every game HYPE screaming names because those were my boyz. When basketball season came around everyone knew who I hung with cause my crew was front row every game motivation me to make BIG PLAYS. It was just all so fun and memories that I will never forget. I hope you feel the same way cause there aren’t to many people who didnt enjoy there high school days. Eventhough there were those days where you were like I can’t wait till this is over when graduation came you were just as sad as you were HAPPY>
HDTV
I know afeter you read the headline for this topic you wonder why is he writing abot HDTV. If you have ever seen one you should know why. I never really realized how great this things were until I watched one all day then came back to my apartment and looked at my old fashioned regular tv. HDTV is truly amazing. The picture quality is sooo clear I always thought it was overrated until I really sat there and watched one. U can see sweat dripping from athletes when they are playing. And when you watch movies it’s like you are at Regal Cinemas. I am really considering getting one for my dorm to hand on my wall. Definately a huge christmas gift if I get one lol. But movie nights every thursday over ackell if I get a HDTV. Also video games are the best on these screens. If you play action video games its amazing I swear. If you have one of the televisions you are LUCKY CAUSE I NEED ONE.
Spring Ball!!!
Everyone remembers there high school prom which for most of us was a great experience. But this past weekend I attended an event very similar to that of a high school prom. This event was VCU’s Spring Ball. It was held at a very nice location the Sheraton Hotel on Broad St. The price to attend was 10 dollars and the tickets sold fast as cold beer at a summer baseball game. There were some individuals who brought two tickets and held onto the second to sell the day of the ball for damn near triple the price. And if all your friends are attending an event and you HAVE to be their you are going to do what you have to to get a ticket. But inside the ball I had a ball LOL. There were so many people dressed very well. Men had on suits ot nice shirts and ties, The ladies were dressed pretty as well with dresses looking fabulous. This isn’t something you attend with a date from what I have heard. So this means every man and woman for themself if you know what I mean. I danced, danced, and danced and sweated a little until I chilled out. But Im looking forward to next year and kinda can’t wait.
Honesty Box Good or Bad?
Im not sure if anyone else feels this way but facebook is something that gets me into so much trouble. Im not going to beat around the bush it’s mostly with females. I have no idea why but there is a stereotype for athletes on a college campus especially at VCU. I have this application called “honesty box” on facebook where any person can get on your page and write whatever they want about you and all you can figure out is if it’s a boy or a girl. Through this application I have received some really nice things and some harsh and very mean things. I dont know why people think so badly about me when they dont know me. But if you were really close too me I would let you view some of this information that I receive. I often laugh at it and show it to my roommates and they laugh because they receive the same type of information. So it’s not good but at the same time it is because of the nice things some of you people out there say. So if you are a person who writes nice things THANKS!!! I appreciate it.
